This summer, Mt. Zion United Methodist Church hosted an unforgettable Vacation Bible School (VBS) experience from Sunday, July 13 through Thursday, July 17. The travelers (kids) and volunteers embarked on an energetic “Road Trip!” theme—based on Joshua 1:9, “The LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joined by a friendly pup named Scout, and their awesome guide, Navigator Rick. Their mission was to hit the road, exploring cool Bible stories, singing, playing, crafting, and learning just how much God loves us and they are never traveling alone —because God’s always right there with you!
Scout the puppet dog and our friendly Navigator Rick made each day feel like an exciting adventure, with a story and “Mile‐Marker” to guide us on our journey. Here’s how our five-day journey went—straight from the “Traveler’s Log”.
Day 1: “God is with us on the journey.”
Day 2: “God is with us when we go off course.”
Day 3: “God is with us when we’re joyful.”
Day 4: “God is with us when we’re lonely.”
Day 5: “God is with us near and far.”
We danced, we crafted, we laughed, and learned each day as we journied through stations that taught us something new, while always reminding us that we’re never alone.
By Thursday, we weren’t just singing our songs — we had real-life takeaways:
Feeling scared? You’re not alone—God’s right by your side.
Feeling like you messed up? God doesn’t leave you—He helps you back on track.
Feeling on top of the world? He’s celebrating with you!
Feeling distant from others? No worries—God’s “near and far” promise travels with you.
Mt.Zion’s VBS was a place where hearts grew, friendships bloomed, and every kid discovered that it is with us wherever we go!
